Amazon Will Accept Bitcoin As A Payment Method And Launch Own Token, Insider Says

According to an anonymous source from the London business newspaper City A.M., Amazon will accept bitcoin as a payment method soon. Also, according to the source,  Amazon is investigating its own token for 2022. The newspaper claims that its source is an insider at Amazon. The insider added:

“This isn’t just going through the motions to set up cryptocurrency payment solutions at some point in the future – this is a full-on, well-discussed, integral part of the future mechanism of how Amazon will work. It begins with Bitcoin – this is the key first stage of this crypto project, and the directive is coming from the very top… Jeff Bezos himself.”

Anonymous source

Jeff Bezos may not be the CEO of Amazon anymore. Still, these developments are probably not new at Amazon. Most likely, Amazon has had an eye on cryptocurrencies for a few years now. Also, Bezos still has an impact on the company.

The source is unknown, and nothing is official yet. But the London business newspaper City A.M. can be categorized as a trustworthy source. In addition, Amazon became big during the internet revolution. Now it is one of the most valuable companies in the world! And the company makes its money on the internet! So, one of the most elementary parts of their business is online payments! Considering Facebook’s Diem coin, it was also clear that more companies would consider launching their own cryptocurrency as well. And Standard Custody CEO Jack McDonald confirmed DEFI TIMES recently that institutions have an appetite for digital assets.

In other words: it was just a question of time when Amazon would enter the crypto industry!
