SEC Delays Decision About VanEck’s Bitcoin ETF Application

The SEC delays its decision about VanEck’s bitcoin ETF application – once again!

The SEC approves or disapproves applications every 45 days and can take up to 240 days to decide. That said, the next date when the SEC could finally decide about VanEck’s application is August 1st. 

The SEC announced this in a filing and also asked for public comment on VanEck’s application. 

The SEC asked interested parties to answer questions about how prone the ETF would be to market manipulation. Also, the SEC asked whether the regulatory landscape has changed significantly since the first bitcoin ETF application in 2016.

The crypto industry is waiting for such a long time now for a bitcoin ETF.

Let’s see if the SEC will finally decide on August 1st.
