Carl Icahn Might Invest $1.5 Billion In Cryptocurrencies

Carl Icahn was interviewed by Bloomberg on Wednesday and hinted a $1.5 billion allocation in cryptocurrencies. Icahn was known to be a crypto skeptical investor; however, he changed his opinion very quickly.

Icahn’s net worth is estimated to be over $22 billion, which makes him one of the most prominent investors in the world. That’s why many investors follow the lead of his investment decision.

Icahn told Bloomberg that he might get into crypto “in a big way.” When asked, what this means he said:

A big way for us would be a billion dollars, a billion-and-a-half dollars. I’m not going to say exactly.

The billionaire commented that most cryptocurrencies existing today might become worthless fairly soon:

Much of the cryptocurrency issued today will not survive, but we believe cryptocurrency in one form or another might be here to stay. To be clear, we have never bought any cryptocurrency, but we are studying it.

However, he is actively searching for cryptocurrencies that might survive:

I’m looking at the whole business and how I might get involved in it.

Carl Icahn is not the only prominent investor who recently changed his mind on Bitcoin. Could this be a trend that is going to continue?
